Association Member - A professional association — state, national and other — to which tort injury lawyers or other interested parties are affiliated. Members in this category may not vote or hold elected office. A professional association shall designate one natural person to represent it as an Association Member of the Society of Settlement Planners. Representatives of the associations may serve on any committee to which they are appointed.

Patrons - Entities or individuals may be designated by the Board of Directors to serve as Patrons of the Society of Settlement Planners. Entities so designated shall be invited to appoint one individual as the principal contact with the Society of Settlement Planners. Patrons, who are not otherwise members, may not vote with the membership, attend closed membership or board meetings, or serve as an officer, director or committee chair. Patrons may serve on a committee.

Associate Member - Individuals who are professionals in other fields which support Professional Members (as further set forth in Board of Directors policy). Members in this category do not have the right to vote or hold elected office but may hold appointed (non-voting) office and may serve on any committee to which they are appointed.

Professional Member - Individuals who devote a substantial portion of their settlement planning work effort on behalf of, at the invitation of and with a pledged duty of loyalty to claimants (as further set forth in Board of Directors policy) and who accept the mission statement of the Society of Settlement Planners. Members in this category shall have the right to vote, may serve in elected or appointed office, and may serve on any committee to which they are appointed.
